Why pause to develop your Tea Mind?

Tea is so much more than a drink. When treated properly it’s a way of life.

Drinking tea is so much more than dunking a tea bag in hot water for 60 seconds then downing it while mindlessly scrolling or multi-tasking. The practice of drinking tea (“Cha Dao”) stems from Daoism and emerged from an ancient philosophy that embodies mindfulness, simplicity, and harmony.

The Way of Tea (Cha Dao) encourages us to pause in order to cultivate the deep connection between the tea, the tea maker, and the moment of tea drinking. This practice supports us to be fully present so we can rebalance and begin to thrive a bit more in our day to day lives.

In Cha Dao, every movement—from boiling the water to pouring the tea—is performed with intention and mindfulness, creating a meditative ritual that helps to centre the mind and connect with the essence of nature. The tea ceremony becomes a metaphor for life, where each action is done with care, respect, and awareness. By embracing Cha Dao, we can cultivate a Tea Mind, a state of being where the mind, body, and spirit are aligned, leading to a deeper understanding of oneself and the world.

My Tea Mind System is based on Cha Dao and the ancient Chinese 5 Element theory. It fuses my knowledge of tea with my love for self-care and philosophy by suggesting a series of tea routines you can do while you’re brewing your tea. Using the Tea Mind System, you’re able to choose a tea based on the Chinese 5 Elements to help rebalance your body and mind.

I initially created The Tea Mind system to support my own personal growth and development. I was fascinated by the Chinese 5 Elements and how I could use it as a tool for creating more harmony, results and contentment in my own life. When I coupled it with tea and started created daily tea routines my life changed. My tea business, eteaket tea, grew and I managed to overcome many limiting beliefs. I could dream bigger, create little moments to mentally rehearse every day, achieve bigger goals … all coupled with more fulfilment, balance and happiness.

I’ve been honing and expanding the Tea Mind System ever since through tea meditation, reiki, NLP and much more and have loved being able to support others to develop their own Tea Mind so they can get the most out of their precious lives.
